Girly Bits Eggnogoholic is one of those polishes that I'd been lusting over and resisting for a long time before I made the plunge. But it was worth every moment of lust.

I don't feel like I did a great job with the pictures. Eggnogoholic is a gorgeous egg-cream off-white with flecks and hexes of gold. I feel like the pictures look more like brown egg speckles (and I suppose that's not an inaccurate assessment, either, given the name) but they're very clearly and vividly gold in person. It reminds me a lot--in a very good, nostalgic, fond way--of the white-and-gold Formica countertops that were so prevalent when I was a kid.

The off-white is very flattering to all kinds of skin-tones and it's very glitter rich, as you can see, but the formula isn't finicky or difficult at all, it applies like any creme polish. I didn't use base coat, but it had no problem gripping the nail. It's very flat-lying and thin; this is FIVE coats, but it looks/feels just like one. Dry time is fast, which made the 5 coats more bearable...but I think next time I'll just use underpants. Lime Crime Milky Ways or Zoya Jacqueline will probably go nicely.

The overall effect is, as you can see, very delicate, subtle but still interesting, and refined. The polish isn't at all bumpy, even for being so glitter rich, though it does have a slight texture to it; one that is easily solved with top coat (I used one coat of Poshe) and it's not particularly top coat hungry at all.

Though I associate eggnog with Christmas, I don't think this is particularly a Christmassy or even necessarily a wintry polish, though it will, of course, look good and appropriate around the winter holidays. But it's enough it's own creature that I'd be happy to wear it any time of year...and I plan to!

Girly Bits is a Canadian company; I bought mine from Llarowe, though, if you want to buy direct (here), they do ship internationally. They do generally have a larger selection of colors on their own site and at greater availability than on Llarowe, for obvious reasons.

*sigh* Eggnogoholic is a polish I have lusted and angsted after for quite a long time and your beautiful swatches aren't helping. Girly Bits is a shop local to where I used to live (now a six hour drive away) and the shipping costs more than the polish for Canadian deliveries (US is cheaper!).

There are quite a few of her polishes that I could happily add to my collection so I might just have to bit the bullet and buy a handfull to make it worthwhile. There is just something about doubling the final price on one bottle due to shipping that I can't quite get past. Canada Post sucks!

So now I'm wondering if you have any other Girly Bits polishes or swatches in your arsenal that you're especially fond of? Cu Blue and Long Winters Nap are also calling my name.
