When I took off Nucleus, I decided to give another of the Chameleon polishes, Fandango, a try. Fandango is a blue/teal/green polish that mainly leans green. Sadly, it has the exact same problems as Nucleus: very sheer (which requires 4 coats to get fully opaque), prone to bubble, and slow to dry.

Unfortunately, I spaced on getting pictures of Fandango by itself, but the bubbling annoyed me sufficiently that I decided to cover it up and hide it behind an extreme dotticure (dotted manicure).

Other than Fandango, I used 20 different blue and green polishes to make all these dots.

They are:

OPI: Unfor-Greta-Bly Blue, Suzi Says Feng Shui, Yodel Me On My Cell, Russian Navy (matte), Essie: Coat Azure, Beach Bum Blu, Zoya: Zuza, Tracie & Ray, Nubar: Reclaim, Greener & Earth, Butter: Bossy Boots & Trustafarian, Sinful: Savage, Mint Apple, Rain Storm, China Glaze: Cha-Cha-Cha & Entourage, Pretty Serious: Nightopia

For the most part, the dots covered up the bubbling beautifully and I liked the mosaic/pebbled look of all the different color dots.

What I did was put out a large piece of wax paper, dribble some polish from a given bottle, and then do some random dots across all 10 nails, before dribbling out a little polish from the next bottle. This kept the polish from drying up and kept me from getting any stringers on my dots. It also meant that by the time I finished with the last polish, the first dots were completely dry and I didn't get any streaking, when I put on top coat. I thought I had taken a picture of the wax paper, so you could see, but either I didn't or it was lost in the transition. Ah, well.

The manicure was pretty easy to take off and Fandango did not stain at all.

Ooh, that's really pretty! You've got a great range of colours that work well together, and your dots are so nice and round and even! ...Hmmm, I might have just about enough polishes now to do that mani in purple/fuchsia/burgundy.

One of my gals bought me a set of dotting tools for Christmas (and a gorgeous deep purple China Glaze, yay!) so I did a dot mani last night; my dots are definitely better with a proper tool, but they still need work. The dots on my right hand are all bigger than on my left hand (that I did first), so next time I need to try cleaning the tools off between hands.
