I've been looking for ways to incorporate other colors in my manicures and yet keep them primarily pink. This is a riff on a manicure that I saw on Pinterest (here) the day before. It had all the things I look for in a manicure: great effect, but easy to execute.

I really liked the blue/periwinkle of the base color, so I decided to stick with that, and then render my rainbow in shades of pink. I used Lime Crime Once In A Blue Mousse for the base color and went (from the smallest arc out) China Glaze Something Sweet, Lime Crime Parfait Day, and Essie Off The Shoulder.

Though, I'd picked out a fourth color, as in my template, I decided to leave a little more space above the curve; a little more "blue sky", as I called it.

The thing about dots is that they look very intricate and time consuming, while, in truth, it took me less than 5m to do both hands, including the time to pour out the polish for dotting. Mistakes in dotting are really only visible to you and dots are really quite forgiving, overall.

On the one hand, the blue of this stands out so much, I suppose it's questionable if the manicure is pink "enough" for my stated goals. I also wish that that (again) there was more obvious color differentiation between Something Sweet & Parfait Day. On the other hand, I love EVERYTHING about this manicure. It's beautiful and perfect. What more could I ask for?

I love that, it has such a serene feeling.
